This is a series and its a typical woman's journey. There are 6 art tiles, and each is a woman with her story. The 6 women are representations of the same person, in different stages in her life.  Do read her story below ( under additional Info sections). The pack of 6 art tiles is packed along with an art card explaining the inspiration of the artist. Display them in any way - frame them, put them on easel or simply  stick on the wall with just a pinch of a blue tack! Each art tile is approx 9x9cm!

     ‘Celebrating Women' series, dedicated to the strength and resilience that I’ve seen embodied in innumerable women. The initial works in the series represent women who have their eyes shut, not sure of how to express what they feel within. The women in the series evolve as they become aware of their beauty and strength, and as they begin to question social norms. 

    The Demure Bride

    She waits with her head bowed, beautifully adorned in silk and jewellery. Her closed eyes cleverly hide the anxiety she feels on her wedding day.

    The Passive Beauty

    Is the umbrella protecting this Japanese beauty from the sun’s rays or is the sun scorching her? This is a symbolic representation of culture that may seem to protect but so often stifles women.

    The Evolving Mother

    Girls are raised to be obedient, filial, loyal, patient and giving - sometimes taking away the basic ability to set limits of self-pride. How will this young lady teach her daughter values that she does not truly understand?

    The Beholder’s Pride

    She is wearing the 'gele' (head-wrap) and lovely coral jewellery, while admiring the flowers from her fiancée. She is unsure of her beauty but hesitantly acknowledges it, because her fiancée perceives her as beautiful.

    The First Awakening

    Do the unveiled eyes reveal more than an unveiled body? Here is a woman who has had the first stirrings of self-pride. It is a momentous occasion that marks the true beginning of her journey.

    She has finally found her identity, her self-pride. She is confident and has a vision. Her eyes look afar, representing hope and countless opportunities
